Besides the SmartUp! Cologne Tour and the traditional Berlin Tour, which took place in January and March 2015, the SmartUp! Munich Tour 2015 again completed a great SmartUp! year, offering its 28 participants from all WHU programs unique insights into Munich’s vibrant start-up scene. Not only does the Bavarian capital provide a different view on the German start-up scene, but also hosts a number of very interesting venture capital firms.
This year, taking part were: FlixBusMeinFernbus, Westwing, Projectchamps, Bragi, Holtzbrinck Ventures, General Atlantic, and eGym. Almost exclusively all start-ups were represented by their founders themselves, providing all participants with the opportunity to get first-hand tips and information. To support this exchange, at each tour stop ample time was devoted to interactive Q&A sessions and informal get-togethers. As last year, the tour was completed with a nice evening at eGym, where all participants hat the chance to learn about the fast growing business and the most recent developments in the fitness industry. Co-Founder Florian Sauter gave the participants first-hand insights into the founding time of eGym and the rest of the eGym team took almost an hour of their time to answer the large amount of questions all of our participants had. The evening ended with all participants testing eGym’s workout equipment and then getting rewarded with pizza, salads and drinks. The visit marked the ending of another great SmartUp! Munich Tour and makes us, David Rheinbay, Paul Nietzschmann and the rest of the SmartUp! Team, confident that the Tour next year will again be a great success.
