eGym UK moves over 80 tonnes for National Fitness Day

eGym celebrated National Fitness Day by encouraging staff to get active. The UK eGymees visited to one of our client sites, The Atrium Fitness club in Ely Cambridgeshire, for a spot of strength training on the eGym circuit. We set a team fitness challenge to shift a total of 50 tonnes of weights, hoping to meet and beat our target.

The day began with the eGym strength test on each machine in the circuit. Every team member was determined to beat their last recorded results and with the rest of the staff watching there was some competitive pressure not to disappoint. Once the strength test results were in, the eGym software automatically calculated the correct weight for individuals to match their current fitness levels. As the bar had been set extremely high with the strength test results it was time to work out. One after the other we completed the circuit on 8 eGym machines as many times as possible. The circuit included the eGym: chest press, seated row, shoulder press, lat pull down, leg extension, leg curl, leg press and ab cruncher.

Valiant efforts were given by all as we pushed ourselves to the limit to reach our target for National Fitness Day. After just a few hours of training, we smashed the target and hit 83.2 tonnes moved on the eGym machines. Congratulations to all the eGym team who took part on such an amazing result. A special mention to Andrew Bagnall, eGym UK Sales Director, who shifted 18.7 tonnes alone! We will certainly know to set the target much higher for next year.

eGym are proud to support National Fitness Day and the Atrium Fitness Club, as it opened its doors to all members and non-members to experience the eGym Fitness equipment for one day. From the members we spoke to, both new and currently using the equipment, we discovered gym members are truly enjoying their full-body 30-minute workouts that the eGym circuit provides.

eGym will be exhibiting at Leisure Industry Week on Stand D20, NEC Birmingham on 20-21 September where you can join our ‘Strength Challenge’ and get involved in some light-hearted, fun competition. Can you beat the eGym team?
